Snake Deterrent

After this year's garter snake attack I was working on ways to make it more difficult and unpleasant for snakes to attack my nest boxes. The idea is to make a pouch out of vinyl screen with Snake Away granules. This pouch is then hung inside your baffle. The theory behind the Kingston Baffle is that a snake will smell the birds, crawl up the pole and get stuck at the hardware cloth. But what if we simply take away that attraction altogether? The smell of these granules is very unpleasant to a snake and probably masks the smell of food as well.
